Dear Vanessa,
ReplyDeletethanks for posting this one, it made us feel very special!
We have been planning to visit this island already, might go this spring. Have you already been there?
Love
Vanda
Vanda, it has been over 17 years since I have been there. But you must visit, it will explain the ancient ties Armenia has with Italia.
ReplyDeleteAlso please visit the St. Gregory the Illuminator statue that the late Pope John Paul II had erected. You do know that he visited Armenia a few times and insisted on part of his funeral be conduced in Eastern Christianity.
In Armenia we have many Roman Empire ancient buildings left like the Temple of Garni.
There is a popular Armenian girl's name "Karine"
(Armenians pronounce the K as a G as in God) phonetically it is "Gar e nay" and it means of Garni.
Watch for my future posts, I am getting a list of Armenian names and their meanings.
The beginning of Christianity starts with beautiful nuns Hripseme (her rep see may) from Italy who an evil Armenian King falls in love with. He kills her, and turns into a beast. Throws St. Gregory in a pit.
................I will save for another story for you but know when you visit Armenia to pick up your child Hripseme's grave and the pit are still there.
